Donna showed me examples of google sites used by other manaiakalani schools. She showed me how to start a site and the tools available to set up learning groups within your classroom. We figured out how to embed hapara workspace into the site. The issue however is that the students can see the teachers format etc. We also discussed setting up a spreadsheet checklist so that both students and kaiako could use it as evidence to monitor their learning progress. I will revisit that option next term with Donna.

I liked the idea around creating a Legacy and I was inspired by having a Market Day.  The overall unit provided by Bex shows the integration of localised curriculum.  The resources are engaging and support the manaiakalani approach to blended learning. The opportunity for our akonga to learn about financial literacy as well as to be enterprising is really exciting.
